Mt. Mansfield on a beautiful winter afternoon -- we are lucky to live in such a lovely state.  The days are getting longer and the sun is higher in the sky.  I'm already looking forward to spring!  One of my resolutions for the New Year is to post here more frequently so keep checking this space for more news and views about my business and issues facing my clients.

As a care manager, I see the benefits of a commitment to a healthy lifestyle including regular physical exercise all the time.  I find that my clients lead lives that are more interesting and fulfilling when they preserve their mobility and are able to get out and participate in activities in the community.  I'm a firm believer in the idea that exercise has benefits for people of all ages and that it's never too late to start an exercise program.

I asked Ryan Leithead, one of my friends at Body Resolution, to write a short post on the benefits of excercise for seniors.  Here's his contribution:

Silver Leaf In-Home Care and Body Resolution have paired up to help you maintain your mobility.  As your body ages things slow down and your joints don’t move quite as well as they used to.  To keep your body moving long into your next decade you need to incorporate proper training.

Body Resolution's experienced trainers work with clients of all ages.  Our staff can help you maintain your lifestyle through functional movement training, and can help elders improve and maintain their mobility.

I recently updated and refreshed the website for my business, Silver Leaf In-Home Care.  I like the look of the new site and hope that it conveys my passion for my work and my commitment to my clients.  I find that my clients' deepest desire is to live independently at home.  My ability, along with my dedicated team of caregivers, to facilitate this gives me a great deal of satisfaction.

It's late autumn, the days are crisp and the leaves have fallen from the trees.  It's seems a little odd to launch a new project at this time of year... but here goes.

I find that caregiving is both very rewarding and also challenging.  I hope to use this blog to share some of my perspectives and insights as a care manager.   It's a way for me to share some of my insights with my clients and their families and for those who may be considering in-home care.
